Jackie Ranken GM NZIPP, GMPhotg. I AIPP

Jackie has over thirty five years’ experience within the visual arts and has been an international awards judge since 2002.

She learnt her craft by working within the photographic industry as a darkroom technician, freelance and sports photographer, wedding photographer, commercial photographer and photojournalist. In 1996 after gaining her Associate Diploma in Fine Arts she began work as a teacher of ‘Fine Art’ photography. Now as an art photographer she combines her art practice with fine art printing, teaching and is a presenter in workshops and seminars nationally and internationally. 

Since 2002 she has won many prestigious photography awards which have culminated in making her a Grand Master of both the Australian Institute of Professional Photography and the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography and a Canon Master.

She has been awarded AIPP Photographer of the Year, three times AIPP Landscape Photographer of the Year, runner up in the World Press awards for documentary Photography, NSW AIPP Photographer of the Year, twice the NZIPP Photographer of the Year, NZIPP Creative Photographer of the Year, NZIPP Illustrative Photographer of the Year, Creative Portrait Photographer of the year and four times NZIPP Landscape Photographer of the Year.

She is also co director of the Queenstown Centre for Creative Photography in New Zealand with her husband Mike Langford.
